The Shirley Police Department was founded on February 10, 1936, and is made up of nine full time police officers including the Chief of Police, four reserve officers, four full-time dispatchers, three part-time dispatchers, a full-time administrative assistant, and a part-time custodian. Chief Thomas Goulden and his Command Staff manage an annual budget for the communications department to provide emergency services and medical dispatch 24 hour a day, 365 days a year.
The Shirley Police Department was recently awarded the AAA Pedestrian Safety Commendation for 21 years without pedestrian fatalities. The officers and staff of the Shirley Police Department are dedicated to providing the highest quality of public safety and law enforcement services to the people who live, work and play in the Town of Shirley.
